The Opera Seabrook 2008-2009 Opera Season cast includes artists especially from South America, like dramatic baritone Camilo Mendoza as Tonio in I Pagliacci; bass Guillermo Baron as Sarastro in The Magic Flute and Sparafucile in Rigoletto; soprano Juliette Vargas as Pamina in The Magic Flute; and coloratura Pattricia Stella Patiño as Gilda in Rigoletto. This 2008-2009 cast is also magnified by the wonderful talent of tenor Richard Nicosia as Canio in I Pagliacci; soprano Joanna Carey as Nedda in I Pagliacci; tenor Clark Sturdevant as Beppe in I Pagliacci and as Tamino in The Magic Flute. As special guest and stage director, we will have Maestro Carlos Enrique Zapata directing The Magic Flute . Top
The Opera Seabrook 2008-2009 Opera Season will have an orchestra accompanying its main stage productions looking to give also an opportunity to talented instrumentalists who would like to further their performance careers.
The Opera Seabrook Director Robert McFarland has performed over 114 operas and 22 musicals, many which can be seen and heard on internationally distributed DVD and CD recordings. In additional to his worldwide reputation as an opera star, Mr. McFarland has also conducted and directed operatic productions internationally since 1986. Having begun his musical career as an exceptional trumpet player, he was awarded the opportunity to play with the Cleveland Orchestra in 1963 at the age of 12. The son of Margaret Jane McFarland, who attended the famed Westminster Choir College in Princeton , New Jersey , Mr. McFarland began vocal studies and eventually won the National Metropolitan Opera Auditions in 1979. This achievement led to his eight-year twenty-seven-role career at New York City Opera under the leadership of Beverly Sills. Since that time, Robert McFarland's vocal artistry has been showcased in nearly every major opera house in the world from Milan , Palermo , Rome , Barcelona , Lisbon , Nice, London , Santiago , Toronto , and Montreal to Los Angeles , San Francisco , Chicago , and New York (Metropolitan Opera and New York City Opera) . With a ready repertoire of over 83 major roles, Robert McFarland continues to delight the world with his artistry. Top

OS is holding auditions for its 2009-2010 Opera Season:
Carmen, Hansel and Gretel, Don Giovanni, Of Mice and Men, Lucia di Lammermoor, Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
Opera Seabrook will also be holding auditions which are open to all dancers, supers, chorus, technicians, ALL MAJOR ROLES and ORCHESTRA.
The auditions are every Friday at the Walt Whitman Center in Camden, NJ . Those interested e-mail us at pattriciapatino@aol.com in order to separate an audition time.
Artists performing a major and minor roles will be considered for The Roster of McFarland Artists Management International (McFAMI).
Chosen Artists will be trained for Robert McFarland (Dramatic Baritone-Conductor-Director) and Rusland Odintsov (Coach-Accompanist).
Rehearsals at the Walt Whitman Arts Center, Camden New Jersey.
No pay, no fee.
Audition Fee: $50.00 for major roles (includes studio and accompanist)
